Privacy Policy

EXECUTIVE CHOICE SOCIAL CLUB INC. (hereinafter referred to as “ECSC“, “we”, “our”, and “us”) understands the importance of protecting the personal information of individuals and the importance of security of confidential information of all types. We have created this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) to demonstrate our commitment to protecting your privacy. This Policy explains:

  • what personal information we collect and why we collect it;
  • how we use your personal information;
  • who we share your personal information with; and
  • the choices you have to access, update, and remove your personal information.

This Policy governs our practices with respect to personal information that we collect through websites that are owned and operated by ECSC, including, without limitation: the general ECSC website available at

1. Policy scope and revision

ECSC may gather and use personal information through our Sites, questionnaires, and other content, tools, and services that are linked to our Sites. This Policy applies to ECSC’s collection, use, and disclosure of personal information obtained through the Sites. This personal information may be obtained directly from you or collected from third parties that have the right to disclose this information to us

Please note that ECSC reserves the right to update or change this Policy at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting an updated Policy to this current webpage. The most current version of this Policy will govern ECSC’s use of your personal information. By continuing to access the Sites after changes are made to this Policy, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.

2. What is personal information

The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (S.C. 2000, c. 5) defines personal information “as information about an identifiable individual” which include any factual or subjective information, recorded or not, about an identifiable individual. For example:

  • age, name, ID numbers, income, ethnic origin, or blood type;
  • opinions, evaluations, comments, social status, or disciplinary actions; or
  • employee files, credit records, loan records, medical records, existence of a dispute between a consumer and a merchant, intentions (for example, to acquire goods or services, or change jobs).

In this Policy, personal information shall mean information about an identifiable individual.

3. Consent and purpose of collecting personal information

By providing ECSC with your personal information through our Sites or any online files on our Sites, you consent to ECSC’s collection, use, and disclosure of the following types of personal information, for the purposes set out below:

3.1. The personal information collected.

When you visit the public pages of Executive Choice Social Club that are accessible without registration, we need and we collect no personal information from you. When you visit our websites, we do not collect or store personal information, but may collect the following information regarding visitors to the websites:

  • 3.1.1. Information you provide to us. ECSC collects information that you provide directly when you create an account, fill out a form or questionnaire or communicate with us by mail, phone email or otherwise, react to marketing posts on our social media forums or pages or provide us with feedback. The types of information that ECSC may collect includes identifiers, such as your first and last name, username, password, email address, address, phone number, payment method and purchase, and if any, demographic information and any other personal information that you choose to provide, such as gender, sexual orientation, special interests, personal beliefs and professional or employment-related information, including your role, company, years of experience and salary.
  • 3.1.2. Information we collect automatically when you use the Sites
  • a. Log Information. ECSC collects log information about your use of the Sites, including browser type, operating system, and IP address. Additionally, as you browses the Sites, we may collect information regarding your time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device, the pages or features of the Site that you browsed, the time spent on those pages or features, the frequency with which the website is used by you, search terms used by you, the links on the website that you clicked on or used, or other statistics.
  • b. Device Information. ECSC also collects certain information about your device, including the hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.

3.2. The use and disclosure of personal information.

  • 3.2.1. Operation our Sites. We may use and disclose your personal information for various business purposes related to operating our Sites, including to:
    a. provide, maintain, and improve our Sites, including to process payments, develop new services, and manage the performance of our Sites;
    b. personalize services offered by ECSC by matching your interest with other ECSC members;
    c. monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with our Sites;
    d. to reset your password or login information; and
    e. detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent use or abuse of our Sites.
  • 3.2.2. Communicating with you. We may use and disclose your personal information to communicate with you, including to:
    a. respond to your comments, questions, and requests, and provide customer service;
    b. communicate with you about events offered to you by ECSC;
    c. conduct online surveys;
    d. send you marketing communications and information we think will be of interest to you, subject to applicable laws;
    e. facilitate contests and other promotions; and
    f. send you technical notices, updates, security alerts and support, and administrative messages.
  • 3.2.3. Legal. We may use and disclose your personal information to meet our legal obligations, including in response to :
    a. a search warrant or other legally valid inquiry or order;
    b. investigative body in the case of a breach of an agreement or contravention of law;
    c. where necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims and to investigate or prevent actual or suspected loss or harm to persons or property; or
    d. as otherwise required or permitted by applicable Canadian law.
  • 3.2.4. Sale. We may transfer any information we have about you as an asset in connection with a merger or sale (including transfers made as part of insolvency or bankruptcy proceedings) involving all or substantially all of ECSC’s assets or as part of a corporate reorganization or other change in corporate control.
  • 3.2.5. Other uses. We may disclose and use your personal information for various other business purposes, including to:
    a. enforce compliance with our policies;
    b. perform accounting and administrative tasks; and
    c. carry out any other purposes described to you in this Policy and at the time that we collected the information.
  • 3.2.6. Service Provider Suppliers. We may transfer (or otherwise make available) your personal information to third parties who provide services on our behalf, including third party suppliers, contractors, and agents. For example, we may use service providers to host our websites, operate certain features on our websites, send emails or other communications, or process payments. Our service providers are given the information they need to perform their designated functions. Each service providers have separate and independent privacy statements, notices, and terms of use, which we recommend you read carefully. Although, we do not authorize them to use or disclose personal information for their own marketing or for other purposes not relating to the services provided, we do not have any control over their operations. Therefore, we have no responsibility or liability for the manner in which each service providers may collect, use, disclose, or otherwise treat your personal information. Currently, ECSC uses and discloses personal information to the following service providers:
    a. We use WordPress, an open-source web content management platform, for the Sites
    b. We use Hostinger to host the Sites.
    c. We use Hostinger to send and receives emails.
    d. We use Square to process payments made through the Sites.
    e. We use Vegas Limousine as the limousine services for our events.

4. Social Media

  • 4.1. We may offer you the opportunity to engage with our content on or through third-party social networking websites, plug-ins, and applications. When you engage with our content on or through third-party social networking websites, plug-ins, and applications, you may allow us to have access to certain information associated with your social media account (e.g. name, username, email address, profile picture, gender).
  • 4.2. If you voluntarily submit or post any information, photographs, or other content to any ECSC social media forums or other social networking pages/sites, certain elements of your personal information may be automatically included in the posting, including your user name and email address, and this information may be collected and used by others. ECSC has no control over, and is not liable for, the collection, use, or disclosure of any posted user content by users of such forums and social media networking pages. For further clarity, any personal information posted, used, or disclosed via such social media sites is not subject to this Policy.

5. Third Party Links

Our Sites may contain links to third party sites that ECSC does not own or operate. The linked websites have separate and independent privacy statements, notices, and terms of use, which we recommend you read carefully. We do not have any control over such websites, and, therefore, we have no responsibility or liability for the manner in which the organizations that operate such linked websites may collect, use, disclose, or otherwise treat your personal information.

6. Security, Confidentiality, and Breach

  • 6.1. Security. ECSC has employed reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards in an effort to protect against unauthorized access, use, modification, and disclosure of personal information in our custody and control. For example, we store all information that you provide to us on servers on which security controls are used. We use firewalls designed to protect against intruders and test for network vulnerabilities. It is important to remember that no method of transmitting or storing data is completely secure.
  • 6.2. Confidentiality. Personal information submitted to ECSC is kept confidential unless disclosed in accordance with this Policy, your express consent or legal requirements. Only ECSC staff, volunteers, or third party suppliers, contractors, or agents with a business need to know, or whose duties reasonably so require, are granted access to personal information about you. All such staff and volunteers will be required as a condition of employment to contractually respect the confidentiality of your personal information and handle it responsibly.
  • 6.3. Breach. ECSC shall comply with, and/or provide you with reasonable assistance in complying with, applicable laws with respect to any unauthorized use, access, or disclosure of personal information.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

  • 7.1. ECSC only retains personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law. When personal information is no longer required for these purposes, it is securely destroyed or deleted according to the internal guidelines and procedures established by ECSC.
  • 7.2. ECSC specifically retains the following types of information for the data retention periods set out below:
    7.2.1. Personality Questionnaires. The personality questionnaire will be collected and stored in an offline environment and maintained for one (1) year after the date you purchased an event or events from ECSC as indicated on the sales receipt.
    7.2.2. Emails. Where you have emailed ECSC with any questions or inquiries, the emails will be collected and stored for one (1) years after the date that the email was sent to ECSC.
    7.2.3. Email Offers, Mailing Lists, and Newsletters. Where you have consented for us to use your details for direct marketing, we will keep this data until you notify by email of the withdrawal of your consent. If you have withdrawn your consent or you have asked us not to communicate with you regarding direct marketing this information will be retained.
  • 7.2.4. Login Information. Your first and last name, user ID, password, phone number, address and IP address will be retained to access your account, to detect and prevent abuse of our Sites, illegal activities and breaches to our Terms and Services.
